I have a tremendous amount of respect for Clay Shirky. I first hear him speak at the Web 2.0 Expo in San Fransisco, CA in 2008. Immediately following his talk I read his book Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organizing Without Organizations. I was hooked.
Via Berkman Center for Internet and Society: Clay Shirky describes the changing news landscape that has put accountability journalism at risk, and outlines a “journalistic ecosystem” that is needed to preserve essential watchdog role of the press.
This talk was sponsored by the Joan Shorenstein Center on Press, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School.
