Besieged by Attacks, Cybersecurity and Hackers

One of the things I truly enjoy about the web is the process of filtering information and the serendipitous discovery of news stories and topics of interest. The first article from the Wall Street Journal is a story about an Australian hacker sting that was brought to an abrupt end when police failed to set a password on their own database application. Subsequently, their computer system was ‘hacked’ by the very cybercriminals they had aimed to wipe out. The second story is classic. From The Register, AT&T dumps celebrity hacker Kevin Mitnick whose accounts, besieged by attacks, have become too hard to defend.
