Crowdsourcing: A Talk From Jeff Howe

by Ben Taylor on July 28, 2009 · Comments in Crowdsourcing Tagged as:

Jeff Howe talks about crowdsourcing, communities, open call, and the impact on business. In his white paper version Howe describes crowdsourcing:

The act of taking a job traditionally performed by a designated agent (usually an employee) and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people in the form of an open call.

Based initially on the application of Open Source principles to fields outside of software. It’s a great introductory talk about crowdsourcing.

Jeff Howe is a contributing editor at Wired Magazine, where he covers the media and entertainment industry, among other subjects and the author of Crowdsourcing: Why the Power of the Crowd Is Driving the Future of Business.
