Larry Cheng’s Global VC Blog Directory

I follow news about emerging technologies, startups, and more established companies that build products and services that shape the way in which we engage, participate, and share information. I follow companies on Crunch Base, read interviews on Venture Blog, Venture Beat, and SL to name a few. I peruse Mashable’s exhaustive list of beta invites like I’m window shopping. Most, if not all of these companies, would never see the light of day without early stage investment from Venture Capitalists.

Larry Cheng (partner at Fidelity Ventures) put together a  ranked VC blog list (by the # of Google Reader subscribers) and posted on his blog under Global VC Blog Directory. The article was also featured on Tech Crunch through which I found the list.

I have a certain level of admiration for VC’s and their practice of investing cash in companies,  innovative products, and services; it’s a relatively new business paradigm. The investment in new and established high-potential growth companies equals high risk. In terms of an investment strategy, more risk than most of us would be willing to take if we had to use our own 401Ks.

What make’s the list interesting are the number of CV’s out there actively participating in the blogesphere. I have a tertiary interest in following social streams from Venture Capitalists. I’m certaninly not that interested in the news of Facebook selling $200 million of preferred stock at a $10 billion valuation. That information is of little value to me.  But as far as personalities go, there are a few VC’s worth following online. Fred Wilson, a VC from NYC, is one of many highlights on Larry Cheng’s list. I have been following Fred Wilsons’s blog and twitter feed @fredwilson for the last several months.  His blog is both informative and entertaining.  There are a few other VC’s on the list worth checking out, and given the many requests for google Google Bulk feeds,  Global VC Blog Directory. that list will surly change and grow.
